What is Ikebana?

Ikebana (生け花) is the Japanese art form of floral arrangements. Translated it means “living flowers”. The meditative form is known as Kadō (華道 „Flower Way“). Practitioners such as students as well as teachers of Kadō are known as Kadōka (華道家).

In Ikebana flowers and branches are arranged in vessels to achieve a certain sense of harmony and balance. Ikebana however is not just simply placing flowers, it means more.
