Ohara Chapter

The Ohara Chapter Switzerland was founded on 28 October 1982 in Zurich. Mrs. Rosmarie Britt was the first president of the chapter. Since 1993 René Mutti is president. The chapter celebrated its 30th anniversary on 6 October 2012.

The Ohara school is one of the three largest Ikebana schools in Japan and is represented internationally in numerous countries on several continents. The main purpose of Ohara Ikebana is to express the beauty of nature through the changing seasons. For this purpose, flowers and plants are composed into aesthetic arrangements, emphasizing their characteristic lines, colors and shapes. The school has numerous traditional, but also modern forms.

Today the Ohara Chapter Switzerland counts 100 members.
